World class results for 2003

Bellerbys College is unique in the world of international education and university preparation. Every year, Bellerbys students gain places at some of the UK's best universities - competing directly with students from the best schools and colleges in the UK. We provide the teaching and support needed to enable our students to compete at the highest academic levels. It is no surprise, therefore, this year all our students gained places in the UK's top 50 institutions, with 20% of them gaining places at the top 10 elite universities in the UK - including Cambridge University, LSE and Imperial College, London.

Once again our students have obtained excellent exam results across our entire range of academic programmes, and these superb results are testament to the hard work of our students and the dedication and expertise of all our staff.

Achieving excellent academic results depends on a number of important factors all working together in harmony; teaching methods, classroom facilities, available programmes, pastoral support and expert guidance. Bellerbys provides this exceptional academic environment.

In short, the 2003 results are a direct reflection on the first class academic package offered to international students at Bellerbys College.

English Language Preparation (ELP)
International students' development of their English language and Study Skills is crucial to their successful placement at university and their subsequent degree qualification. At some stage in their education at Bellerbys, all our students study English language & Study Skills with many starting in our ELP course before progressing to an academic programme. Ultimately, most students then take an IELTS examination as a requirement for university entrance. On the IELTS scale of 0 (Beginner) to 9 (Native Speaker), Bellerbys' top students have achieved amazing results in a very short period of time.

Our international students, who had not completed their high school in their own country, have once again achieved outstanding results in their GCSEs. The 60% A-C grades achieved is higher than the UK National average for UK students.

We have developed an intensive one-year programme for international students who have not completed their country's high school and who want to start their pre-university course as soon as possible. Five or six subjects are studied over three or four terms. Success at GCSE leads onto A Levels or the Foundation Programme.
