Community Colleges in the USA

Community College Program -students

Community colleges are the ideal choice if you want to experience the richness of an American education, but are not yet academically ready for university and need a stepping-stone towards a full degree. They also provide a great way of experiencing a gap year abroad without going on to a full degree.

Academic Excellence and Superior Facilities
Community colleges are two year, Associate Degree-granting colleges that offer a wide range of undergraduate courses. If you wish, after two years, you can transfer to an American university to complete an additional two years and achieve a Bachelors Degree. Community colleges combine good academic credentials with excellent facilities and offer tremendous value. Academic instruction takes place in classes which average around 25 students, with teaching provided by professors who are dedicated to student success.

Join a Diverse Student Community
Students attending community colleges come from diverse backgrounds and are of varying ages. Some have only recently graduated from high school, while others are young professionals who wish to specialize in a specific area in order to qualify for a better job. Some are employees who have been required by their employers to take further education while there are also mature adults who have decided to pursue a college degree later in life. This variety creates a greatly enhanced academic atmosphere with contributions from a variety of perspectives.

International students like you are highly valued as part of this community. Outside the classroom you’ll be able to enjoy a diverse range of extracurricular activities, make life-long friends and experience all that the American college culture has to offer.

Graduation: Memories to Last a Lifetime
One of the most exciting moments during the full degree program is the graduation ceremony. Students earning an Associate’s Degree at a Study Group partner community college can participate in the formal ‘Cap and Gown’ ceremony held on graduation day and will receive the official college Certified Diploma.
