Lancaster University International Study Centre

University accommodation

Guaranteed accommodation for your whole time at Lancaster

As an international student, you are guaranteed accommodation on campus throughout your course.

Some of the best on-campus accommodation in the UK

All on-campus accommodation is located within the colleges. The University is investing millions of pounds in building new accommodation to ensure you will live in some of the best student accommodation in the country.

Students with disabilities

A number of student study-bedrooms have been adapted for students with disabilities. If you need adapted accommodation, let us know. We will try and ensure that you have the accommodation you need.

Accommodation options

As a student on the International Foundation Year you will be allocated accommodation in one of the eight colleges on campus.

A choice of room types

All colleges have rooms with en suite facilities and there are also some rooms with shared bathrooms.

Your accommodation: key facts

  • On-campus accommodation is all self-catering
  • There is a cleaning service provided for communal areas (kitchens, shared bathrooms, corridors)
  • Kitchens are equipped with a microwave, cooker, fridge and freezer
  • Most rooms are available on a 40-week let
  • Launderette facilities are available on campus
  • Each room contains a bed, desk chair, wardrobe and shelving
  • Some rooms have built-in TV points but assume you will require an aerial if you bring a TV with you (TV licence required)
  • Most rooms have private shower and toilet facilities but this is not standard across campus
  • All rooms have telephone and computing network points

Accommodation fees

In 2007/2008 rents in accommodation are likely to range from £54 to £105 per week. You must book all residential accommodation for the full academic year.
